What is the difference between NHS and private dental care?
NHS dental care covers clinically necessary treatments at a fixed charge set by the government. Private care offers a wider range of treatments (including cosmetic options like teeth whitening, veneers, and dental implants), more appointment flexibility, and often more time with your dentist. Many of our patients choose to combine NHS and private treatments - the best of both worlds.
How long does a new patient examination take?
A new patient examination typically lasts around 40-60 minutes. This gives us plenty of time to get to know you, carry out a thorough examination, take any necessary X-rays, and discuss your dental goals, all without feeling rushed.
I haven't been to the dentist in years. Will you judge me?
Absolutely not. We see patients who haven't visited a dentist in many years, for all sorts of reasons, and our only goal is to help you move forward. We promise a judgement-free, supportive environment. We're just delighted you're here.
Do you treat nervous or anxious patients?
Yes, and this is something we take very seriously. Our team is experienced in helping anxious patients feel at ease. We explain everything in advance, work at your pace, and will never push you to do anything you're not comfortable with. Many previously anxious patients now look forward to their appointments with us.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a list of any medications you're currently taking, any recent dental X-rays if you have them, and your NHS exemption certificate if applicable. That's it - we'll take care of the rest!
Can I bring my children to register too?
Yes! We love seeing families and treat patients of all ages. Children under 18 are seen free on the NHS. We do our very best to make dental visits a positive experience for younger patients right from the very first visit.
Do you offer payment plans for private treatment?
Yes. We offer 0% finance options on private treatments, so cost should never be a barrier to getting the care you need. Ask our team for more details when you visit, or call us to discuss your options.
Where are you located and how do I get there?
We're located at 200 Castelnau, Barnes, London SW13 9DW, just off the A306. We're easy to reach by bus (routes 209 and 33), on foot, or by bike. There is street parking nearby, and we're a short distance from Hammersmith, Putney, and Chiswick.
